Organization: The Court  constitutes the judicial authority of the European Union and, in cooperation with the courts and tribunals of the Member States, it ensures the uniform application and interpretation of EU law.
The Court of Justice of the European Union, which has its seat in Luxembourg, consists of two courts: the Court of Justice and the General Court (created in 1988). The Civil Service Tribunal, established in 2004, ceased to operate on 1 September 2016 after its jurisdiction was transferred to the General Court in the context of the reform of the European Union’s judicial structure

 

Duty Station: Luxembourg

 

Open To: graduated in law or political science

 

Timeframe: there are two traineeship periods:
- from 1 March to 31 July;
- from 16 September to 15 February for the traineeships in the Members' chambers and 1 October to 28 February for the traineeships in the administrative departments.



Deadline:

- for the period march-july the applications to be made between 1 July and 15 September of each year;

- for the periods sempt.-feb. and oct.-feb. the applications to be made between 1 February and 15 April of each year.

 

Job description: every year, the Court of Justice of the European Union offers a limited number of paid traineeships. Traineeships in the Court's administrative departments are generally undertaken in the Directorate for Legal Translation, the Research and Documentation Directorate, the Communication Directorate, the Protocol and Visits Directorate, the office of the Legal Adviser for administrative cases, the Registry of the General Court or the Interpretation Directorate

 

Qualifications: applicants must hold a degree in law or in political sciences (majority content, law) or, for traineeships in the Interpretation Directorate, a diploma in conference interpreting

 

Wage: the grant paid is €1177 net per month
