Ente:  Fondata nel 2006 da Nabil Boustany e suo figlio Fadi, la Boustany Foundation offre numerose borse di studio per tutta una serie di discipline accademiche e destinate agli studenti più meritevoli. La fondazione promuove inoltre programmi di aiuto per bambini svantaggiati e punta a contribuire allo sviluppo e al benessere della persona attraverso:

  • il sostegno alle varie discipline volte a contribuire all’evoluzione della civiltà umana (astronomia, medicina, scienze, tecnologia, finanza)
  • il favorire l’armonia tra i popoli attraverso la promozione della consapevolezza e del rispetto della cultura altrui nonché la diffusione e il flusso di informazioni.

Destinatari: Tutti i candidati che presentano un eccellente background accademico e che si dimostrano particolarmente promettenti. Nonostante la borsa di studio può essere destinata a studenti di ogni nazionalità, verrà data priorità ai candidati di discendenza libanese.

Descrizione dell’offerta: La borsa di studio offre:

  • un contributo economico pari a 95.000 dollari USA (47.500 all’anno) destinati a coprire le spese di istruzione;
  • le spese di viaggio e alloggio relative al tirocinio.

La borsa di studio della Boustany Foundation è concessa ogni due anni per un corso MBA  della durata di due anni alla Harvard Business School. Ogni anno è diviso in due semestri. Durante il primo anno tutti gli studenti seguiranno lo stesso corso di studio al fine di costruire una base solida di concetti e competenze manageriali in tutte le principali discipline. Al secondo anno gli studenti potranno scegliere fino a cinque corsi per semestre e avranno l’opportunità di iscriversi ad altri programmi per laureati.

Gli studenti destinatari della borsa di studio dovranno poi completare un tirocinio di due mesi non remunerato all’interno della fondazione.

 

Requisiti: Gli studenti di Harvard sono famosi per possedere tutta una serie di caratteristiche:

  • leadership su ampia scala ed espressa in varie forme, dall’organizzazione della classe al comandare una squadra di combattimento, dalla gestione di un’attività alla condurre iniziative al lavoro;
  • attitudine e appetito analitico. Gli studenti di Harvard valutano, analizzano, agiscono con informazioni complesse all’interno di contesti spesso ambigui. Al fine di ottenere ciò, l’MBA Admissions Board esaminerà le prestazioni accademiche precedenti degli studenti, i risultati del GMAT o GRE, e, se opportuno, del TOEFL iBT e/o IELTS, nonché il tipo di esperienze lavorative. Non è richiesta una particolare tipologia di studi precedenti, ma occorre dimostrare una capacità di padroneggiare concetti analitici e quantitativi;
  • impegno alla cittadinanza comunitaria. La Harvard Business School ricerca studenti che dimostrino di avere elevati standard etici e rispetto per gli altri, e che possano contribuire positivamente al programma dell’MBA.

Organization: Established in 2006 by Nabil Boustany and his son Fadi, the Boustany Foundation grants various scholarships across a range of academic disciplines in order to create opportunities for exceptional students. Moreover, it promotes aid programmes for disadvantaged children. The Foundation aims to contribute to the development and welfare of mankind through:

  • supporting all disciplines contributing to the evolution of human civilizations (astronomy, medicine, science & technology, finance);
  • promoting harmony between human populations by promoting awareness and acceptance of the other's culture and facilitating, when necessary, the dissemination and flow of information.

Open To: All candidates having an excellent academic background and showing considerable promise. Although the Scholarship can be awarded to candidates of any nation, priority will be given to candidates of Lebanese descent.

Candidates may apply for the Scholarship only after receiving an offer of admission from the Harvard MBA programme.

Description: The Scholarship offers the following:

  • Financial aid amounting to US$95,000 (US$47,500 per year) towards tuition fees;
  • Travel and accommodation expenses related to the internship.

The Boustany MBA Harvard Scholarship is granted once every two years for a two year course at Harvard Business School. Each year is divided into two semesters. During the first year, all students will pursue the same course of study so that to build a solid, broad foundation of general management concepts and skills across all the key disciplines. During the second year, students choose from an unparalleled range of selective courses up to five courses per semester and also have the opportunity to cross-register for courses in other select graduate programmes.

Successful scholars are then expected to complete a two-month unpaid internship with the Foundation.

 

Qualifications: Harvard students are known for sharing the following common characteristics:

  • Habit of leadership on any scale, from organizing a classroom to directing a combat squad, from running an independent business to spearheading initiatives at work;
  • Analytical aptitude and appetite. Harvard students assess, analyze, and act upon complex information within often-ambiguous contexts. In order to achieve this, the MBA Admissions Board will review your prior academic performance, the results of the GMAT or GRE, and, if applicable, TOEFL iBT and/or IELTS, and the nature of your work experience. There is no particular previous course of study required to apply; you must, however, demonstrate the ability to master analytical and quantitative concepts;
  • Engaged Community Citizenship. Harvard Business School is looking for students who exhibit the highest ethical standards and respect for others, and can make positive contributions to the MBA Program.
