Job description

  • Conduct research on the scope of potential celebrities and other key influencers and opinion leaders who may meet the criteria for supporting UNICEF China’s communication and advocacy priorities. Draft pre-selection notes and gather basic information of the candidates, including biographies, main professional achievements, evidenced interest in philanthropy and status of his/her digital influence;
  • Facilitate the celebrity/key influencer screening process. Perform a background check on the celebrities who are identified by internal teams or partners to engage in the UNICEF-supported events or activities, or who approach UNICEF with interest in working with UNICEF for children;
  • Support to the production of high-quality briefing materials for UNICEF China’s celebrity partners to understand the purpose, key messages, timeline, action plan and expected outputs for the UNICEF events and campaigns requiring their support. Assist in drafting and editing briefing notes, exchanging feedback with celebrity management team and coordinating with internal and external partners to finalize the work plans;
  • Assist in facilitating celebrities’ offline and online engagement in the UNICEF events and activities including but not limited to field visits, advocacy events, media productions, digital campaigns and social messaging;
  • Organize media interviews with UNICEF celebrity partners. Assist in preparing the talking points for celebrity partners in response to media queries as appropriate. Coordinate with internal and celebrity teams to review the draft reports and negotiate with media to make sure UNICEF’s feedback is accepted. Collect media coverage after the interviews are completed;
  • Support monitoring and assessment of the impact of the UNICEF celebrity engagement in media and social media. Follow the trends, identify and evaluate opportunities and risks related to UNICEF celebrity partnerships in alignment with the office’s communication and advocacy strategies;
  • Assist in developing and maintaining effective collaboration with celebrity partners and other key influencers whose support is essential to the achievement of advocacy and communication objectives;
  • Provide logistical support for planning, preparation and execution of physical events, including coordination with programme sections, liaison with relevant counterparts/contractors, and in-person support and coordination on-site, as required;
  • Support to developing public communication products including press releases, human interest stories, fact sheets and other information materials that will be distributed to media and through UNICEF digital channels;
  • Provide support to the management of communication and advocacy campaigns and the fulfillment of other demands as required by the Communication Section. 

 

Qualifications: 

  • A university degree, preferably an advanced degree, in Communication, Journalism, Public Relations or other related area;
  • At least two or three years of responsible professional work experience in public communication, working with celebrities or other related areas, preferably in a non-profit organization, is required;
  • Good understanding of influencer landscape and general trends of outreach strategy in China;
  • Ability to formulate strategies and concepts, and experience in planning and organising projects;
  • Persuasion, negotiation and influence, confidence in building relationships and networks;
  • Fluency in English and Chinese.

  • Conduct research for eight months, from October 2019 to May 2020, for the Centre for Justice and Transformation on the topic of transitional justice with focus on history, justice and/or social science;
  • Consult monthly with the mentors, individually assigned to them, from the Senior Scholars’ Team;
  • Prepare and submit to the OSCE Presence a draft research proposal with research question and research methodology, under the guidance of the mentor, in the deadline outlined below;
  • Prepare and submit the final research paper to the OSCE Presence upon completion of the research work, under the guidance of the mentor, in the deadline outlined below.

 

 Expected Outputs/Deliverables:

  • Deliver to  OSCE Presence: A completed research proposal, including the scope of the research, research question, and research methodology (min. 2000 words), by 15 December 2019;
  • Deliver to OSCE Presence: A completed full research paper on the selected topic (min. 8000 words), by 20 May 2020.

Within delegated authority, the Associate Administrative Officer will be responsible for the following duties:

A first-level university degree and no experience will be accepted for candidates who have passed the Young Professionals Programme Examination/United Nations National Competitive Recruitment Examination (NCRE) or the General Service to Professional Examination (G to P).

Certification in Supply Chain Operations Reference (SCOR) Model or equivalent is desirable.

Work Experience: A minimum of two years of progressively responsible experience in administration, finance, accounting, human resources management or related area is required. Experience in writing and editing policy guidance documents is desirable. Experience working in a multi-cultural team and coordinating with multiple partner entities and clients is desirable.   • Excellent knowledge of the institutional framework of the targeted European Governments and/or the European Commission;

  • Excellent understanding of conservation, development and political issues in Europe and globally;
  • Strong writing and oral skills in English;

  • be at least five, and typically not more than twenty, years into their careers, with demonstrated professional accomplishments at a regional, national, or international level, and a clear indication of future contributions and excellence. The average age of a Greenberg World Fellow is 39, though there is no minimum or maximum age limit.

Job description: The Maurice R. Greenberg World Fellows Program is a four-month, full-time residential program based out of Yale’s Jackson Institute for Global Affairs. The Program provides World Fellows the opportunity to expand their vision, learn from each other, and grow personally and professionally.  World Fellows contribute to Yale’s intellectual life, give talks and participate on panels, collaborate with peers, audit classes, and mentor students.

 

Qualifications: 

  • be fluent in English. An excellent command of the English language is essential;
  • be a citizen of a country other than the United States. While dual citizens are eligible, preference is given to candidates whose work is focused outside the US.

 

Wage/Fees: Yale University is offering this compensation package:

  • A taxable stipend to cover the costs of living in New Haven;
  • A modest, furnished one- or two-bedroom apartment for the duration of the program;
  • Medical insurance;
  • Round-trip travel from home country.

Twice a year, the EDPS traineeship programme hosts on average 8 trainees. The traineeship sessions start on 1st of October and  1st of March, each for a five-month period.

Organization: The European Data Protector Supervisor is the European Union Independent Body for data protection. It supervises the EU administration's processing of personal data to ensure compliance with privacy rules; advises EU institutions and bodies on all aspects of personal data processing and related policies and legislation; handles complaints and conducts inquiries; works with the national authorities of EU countries to ensure consistency in data protection and monitors new technologies that might have an impact on data protection.

Job description: The EDPS launched its traineeship programme in 2005 by joining the European Commission's Virtual Blue Book trainee programme, also known as VBB. The main objective is to offer recent university graduates the opportunity to put into practice the knowledge acquired during their studies, particularly in their specific areas of competence such as law (preferably graduates with a data protection background), information and technology, information and communication, and human resources. 

The traineeships offers EU knowledge – insight into the processes and policies of the European Institutions Practical experience – an opportunity to play a part in the EDPS's day-to-day business and opportunity to put academic theory into practice.

 

Qualifications: 

  • University degree or equivalent, of at least 3 years of study, corresponding to a complete cycle (Bachelor's);
  • Very good knowledge (C level as per the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) of two EU official languages, one of which must be a procedural language: English or French or German. For non EU nationals only one procedural language is required.
  • Have no prior work experience of any kind, in excess of 6 weeks in any EU institution, body or agency, EU delegations, with Members of Parliament (MEPs) or Advocates General at the EUCJ.

 

Wage/Fees: The European Data Protection Supervisor offers two types of traineeships, remunerated and non-remunerated. Remunerated traineeships provide a grant of circa 950 euros per month.
